Saturday afternoon on 8 September was a joyful occasion for twenty-seven young people who were Confirmed by Bishop Sproxton at the 4.00 pm Mass at Pater Noster Myaree. The entrance hymn was, the theme song for World Youth Day 2008, appropriately named Receive the Power. The hymn is based on Acts 1:8, You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses.

The Candidates were actively involved in the Mass, giving the welcome, reading of the Word, offering prayers of intercession and the presentation of the gifts. The young people performed these tasks with confidence and deference appropriate to the occasion. The following photographs capture some of this participation. The final photographs are of the whole group of newly confirmed young people, now full members of our Parish Community.
